Vineyards of the Hudson Valley
France, California, Italy, Australia, Chile and the Hudson Valley.
That's right, Hudson Valley wines are finally becoming as well know
as wines from the great regions of the world.
Combining rich growing soil, rainy spring and fall weather and a sunny
summer season, Hudson Valley vineyards are now making some of the highest
rated and best tasting wines in the country.
A day at one of the dozens of local vineyards is combined learning and
tasting experience. Visitors to area wineries can take in the sights of
the valley while watching the wine making process and sipping a local
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir or Chenin Blanc.
One Hudson Valley wine even has a presidential suitor. President Clinton
and supporters enjoyed 350 bottles of Victory White from Clinton Vineyard
in Clinton Corners in Dutchess County during the Democratic National Convention.
Other noted area vineyard include the award-winning Millbrook Winery
in Millbrook and Rivendell Winery in New Paltz, the El Paso of Ulster
Park, Benmarl Winery in Marlboro, the West Park Winery in West Park, Adair
Vineyards in New Paltz, Baldwin Vineyards in Pine Bush, the Cascade Mountain
Winery in Amenia and don't forget to visit The Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville,
the oldest in America.
