Plenty to do in Woodstock
By Bond Brungard
For the Poughkeepsie Journal
There are many things to see and do in Woodstock. Here are just a
few:
-- The Woodstock Guild, a nonprofit organization, presides over the 1902
Byrdcliffe Art Colony, which gave birth to Woodstock's century-old artist
movement.
Byrdcliffe and its colony of original buildings offers residencies to
visual artists, writers and composers. Classes are also available. Call
the guild at (845) 679-2079.
-- The Kleinert/James Art Center and the Fleur De Lis Gallery are also
part of the Woodstock Guild. Kleinert/James hosts concerts and many contemporary
art exhibits each year.
The Fleur De Lis Gallery is the longest continuously owned and operated
retail shop in Woodstock.
Both Kleinert/James and the Fleur De Lis Gallery are in the heart of
the Village of Woodstock on Tinker Street. For more information, call
679-2079.
-- The Fletcher Gallery offers sculpture, portraits and appraisals. For
more information, call 679-4411 or go online to www.fletchergallery.com.

as well as current chart-topping artists. Call 679-4349.
